Boysenberry pie seals the deal in southern california

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boysenberry the humble boysenberry was first manufactured on this hallowed ground I now sit and will be the taste sensation of the first part of our US adventure.

Very tasty berry and obviously nice in a pie (leaving a fee pips in your teeth) but also the Base for the bbq sause on my pizza. Probably as near to healthy eating as we have got of late !!!!! (Well it is fruit)

Just to finish off yesterday. The afternoon we went all Jurassic before finishing with Potter in 4D. Quite exhilarating ride. I am much more about the experience rides rather than the clunky rollencoasters.  Although I enjoyed the jurrassic log flume type drop .. not sure about carys?

(Carys) Boysenberry pin was very tasty! Got a lot more than I'd expected! Note to self: If ever asking for a 'small' portion, or 'just a slice,' always expect a full Sunday lunch coming your way!

Very much haTed the Jurassoc Park log flume. I just hate big drops! Decoration was good, and I liked all the dinosaur robots,  but the main event, hated it.

  1. Boysenberry in a pie I'd heard off, but never as a pizza sauce. Still sounds like a nice idea and might be one of your 5-a-day.

Carys' description of an American 'small potion' or 'just a slice' is so accurate :-)

    1. I forgot to ask, do they still grow them at Knotts Berry Farm, I guess as you are staying at there 'home' you may be able to see them in the grounds.

    3. Thanks Lloyd,

given they have kept the name - and the history of the Berry on the link you gave to wikipedia I wondered if they had made a theme of it too!

    6. Don't forget Lloyd, before I started working in Learning and Teaching I spent a lot of my time as a Marketer so I would say, with the Americans: "don't worry about the dream - it is the taste that matters. "

  3. Gorgeous photo of Carys. Fruit on a pizza? Those crazy Americans....
In the Davies family spinning rides are greatly preferred to the droppy ones.
    Sounds great. Xx
