The passing observer might think this post is likely to feature traffic problems at the coldra but they would be wrong.
We caught minibus to annaheim to collecreate car as prebooked through BA hols only to be told by avis that it was waiting at LAX airport. Thone who know the area will realise this is a good distance away and we had to pay for anow expensive taxi to get there. Both BA and Avis will be getting a good doing when we get back.
Anyway this also meant been thrown in the deepend driving as we had to negotiate rush hour and the freeway to head back south. We kepr going south though and ended up in the tranquillity and beauty of Newport Beach. All problems brushed aside and a paddle in the Pacific meant we were soon looking at the day as character building and a chance to see LAX a different way. Bryn reckons he even saw the Hollywood signot as we drove down the freeway or interstate and I believe him.
The latter positives however will not be mentioned in chrissis stroughly worded letter to BA though.
Newport Beach is fabulous. It and Malibu are my two favorite places in LA. Though Santa Monica is worth a visit - the end (or start if going in the other direction) of Route 66.
ReplyDeleteThe eight lane roads around LA are exciting aren't they. I've normally had a few weeks driving in the US before getting there, must be even more exciting on your first day!!
Nice, what time of day were you at Newport beach it looks rather empty.
ReplyDeleteIt was towards the end of the day 6 pm ish. A few people around... fishing off the pier.
