Someone must have known about my map nightmare and put this up at the Grand canyon visitor centre.
Pretty much shows our whole coverage in recent days and provides an indication of tomorrows trek to Vegas. Just an hours drive to the canyon. Up early after arachnophobia last night. Our lodge is very much the wilderness part of the adventure!!
Separate blogs tonight as carys can't edit mine. So short and sweet.
Canyon was a walk festival and spent a day there walking the 10 mile rim walk and bright angel trail . Views spectacular and one to tick off. I hiked a bit around kings canyon in Oz years ago. Remember being told it was second only to the Grand Canyon so pleased to see the big brother.
Absolutely hanging by the end. Have run further distances but a hike in the arizona sun is sapping. The views more than compensated.
Hung back from posting until we had eaten. Sadly the Italian food in station 66 overpriced and bland. Highlight if there was one was a local cucumber based beer brewed in nearby flagstaff.
Love the post, especially the cucumber beer? xx
ReplyDeleteCheers Ian. Yeah a crisp end to the day.
DeleteNot normally known to turn my nose up at a beer but cucumber???
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't so bad si. Just a very light, golden ale with a crisp, hint of cucumber undertone. The town of Williams is full of surprises.
DeleteThe photos are great. I'm afraid I used the Canyon buses for my journeys. Walking seemed a bit much in that heat. Still it really is one of the most sees of the world - Thanks for sharing.
