To Hollywood On Bikes!

(Carys) Got upt his morning and went straight to the pool for the last time. I'm going to miss Knotts Berry Farm. In dad's words, 'it feels like the end of an era.' Very true, though I'm not sure why. Had a shower and then dad checked out. We went to the Knotts Berry Farm theme park shop, and bought lot's of boysenberry products. Dad's moved on from Dory, and now he's slightly obsessed with boysenberries. Mum had to make him put some things back..........because he had gone a bit over the top.

We drove to this new hotel, kind of like a motel and dropped our car off. Then we walked up the street of L.A, down the walk of fame. We saw loads and loads of stars, one every yard or so. I learnt that there are more than 2500 stars. Thats alot.

The bike tour was wonderful. The man who took us was really nice, and I learnt lot on the trip. We passed Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's house, and one of the windows was open, which meant he was home! Now that probably sounds a bit unimpressive, but it honestly felt so exciting!

We got really, really close to the Hollywood sign, and went through this little cave, where loads of famous movies were filmed, including the oringal Batman, Star Trek and Lone Ranger. The tour guide was a really talented photographer and took some shots of us all. It was really fun!

(lloyd) well what can I add? Enjoyed last moments at the hotel. Some gym time. Training for half marathon the last days I have concentrated on speed work. This means short 20 mins on the treadmill. Today I did a few lengths of the pool and the bike ride so my own mini triathlon. ..

From here we hit the freeway. Getting the hang of this driving lark even tunine into a bit ofurther iconic rock radio.

Right the bike tour was awesome. Packed it all in to 2 or 3 hours whigh really was all we had. Hollywood at night not so child friendly.  Scott our guide a top fella and if any of you guys pass this way look them up here http://www.biketourshollywood.com/

Back at the days Inn now. Bit of a motEl feel. Snacks and beers from the 7/11 and chips on TV. I have been looking for ponch and Jon ever since I hit the la freeway and here they are.

That and batmans cave has made my day...

  1. I love Carys' description on your Boysenberry obsession Lloyd. I've got lots of boring photos of the stars outside Sam's Theatre from my visit there. So glad you described them not took them :-)

The ride sounds innovative, fun and good exercise - well planned.

How are the boysenberries fitting in with the training Lloyd?

  3. Moved on from boysenberries now. My therapist helped me. Everyone out here has a therapist right?

    1. I reckon a ton of Boysenberries would be cheaper than an LA therapist :-)

    1. Hi Lloyd,

I noticed that on another of your blogs.

Just before coming away I caught up with your Spanish and AustraAsia ones. The latter had some photos missing too.

How did you load the photos, straight into blogger or linked to Goole Photos. Sometimes if you edit things in Google Photos it changes them in blogger, so it might be that?

    2. hmm .. these days I load straight onto blogger from google photos, but I wonder if I did something different back in the day. Not sure I'll go back and reload, time moves on.
